Towne Pharmacy has been an independent family owned business serving the shoreline area for over 45 years. Karen Ragonese, Registered Pharmacist and owner of Towne Pharmacy graduated from the University of Connecticut, School of Pharmacy in 1983 and joined her father William Ward, Registered Pharmacist during the same year. She accepted ownership of the business in 2003 and continued to expand the business and successfully compete with chain pharmacies by offering services and products that chain stores cannot match. Her expertise and experience concerning most insurance plans gives her patients a useful resource for understanding their insurance options. Some services Karen had implemented include free medication delivery to the elderly, personal consultation for customers concerning their medication or insurance plans, custom compression stocking fittings by Karen, a certified fitter and orthopedic body brace fittings. Karen is also a member of the Branford Rotary Club, the Chamber of Commerce, the Connecticut Pharmaceutical Association and the National Community of Pharmacists Association.
Vincent is a graduate from the University of Connecticut and had worked in the aerospace industry for over 28 years. He left his profession to join his wife Karen in an effort to expand Towne Pharmacy’s Durable Medical Equipment services to a shoreline area which demands a full service facility. Vincent’s detailed work within the Aerospace industry has prepared him to concentrate on detail and safety. His assessment of the patient’s condition and needs will ensure the correct product choice for safety and comfort. Services include equipment consultations to ensure proper product selection, explanation of insurance benefits and coverage based on the patient’s individual plan. Towne Pharmacy offers products such as canes, walkers, rollators, knee walkers, transport chairs, wheelchairs, lift chairs, scooters, bath safety equipment, compression leg and arm wear, body orthopedic braces and therapeutic/diabetic shoes with specially heat formed inserts.
